I came across an old word MENSUR that gives the proportion
2 to 3
1 is the nut to neck curve
2 is the neck curve to bridge
You will find all the advice given up to now fits that nicely.
Watch out for the slight tilty angles and try not to dent anything with your ruler.
( Edited to put the measurements in the right order.)(originally back to front)
When correcting a post sometimes it gets messy.
Clearer is Nut to Neck Curve is one third the string length. |

Hi, I have the Ossman's book and I can say that all the measurements are different from the Strobel's book (A refference for shop use), and all the patterns are a bit different, for example, nut length is 21.5mm instead of 23.5 or 24mm on new violins. |

The Strobel book shows good examples of what to do, the other book shows what not to do. |
