I havent looked at a Suzuki book myself, but "Play violin today" level one was a big help for me.

The bridge should be lined up with the notches in the F holes, make sure bridge feet are flat on violin, no gaps. Use a tuner and dont overtune.

I agree with SMaus. The best way to build strength and agility is by running drills on your violin.
