Also when we sold to students, the Coda bows usually beat out wood bows in the same price range.

Go with the Coda GX if you can afford it. Daughter is a player and we used to sell them when we lived in USA, the GX is the best of the Diamond range for a player.

Violas do fit in the overhead. Had a violin, viola, and cello (who had a seat) on flight Phoenix to London, no problems. OO yes, and a service dog.
