Yes. I plane only one piece at a time then check for fit.
I sharpened my plane blades with 320 grit DMT stone, then 650 is the finest I have. (Should I get a finer grit? I see people using 8000)

sounds good I guess. I used the shooting board in a different way. I clamped down the wood and used the shooting board by hand. I think your way is better.

Hi all. Tonight I just tried installing purfling by hand, and I can say, so far its not looking good.

Hi all. I recently read of wood carvers soaking their wood in water and carving the wood while being very wet. I wonder if any luthiers do this while carving the scroll?
