Please take it to a local shop to have a luthier do all of those things. Except for the rosin, you can just purchase that yourself at the shop you take it to for the all the other things.

probably because it is an oxidation process instead of an evaporation process.

Yes, doesn't the oil harden as it oxidizes? Spirit varnish, for example, dries by the evaporation of the solvent.
