I am trying to fix my bow. The screw at the end can wind and rewind. However, when I tighten the bow, using the screw at the end, the bow only tightens ever so slightly. Then the screw hits its limit and cannot tighten anymore. It gets "stuck" and cannot be tightened anymore. I opened the bow by unscrewing the end screw. The eyelet seems find and doesn't need re-threading or replacement, from what I can tell.

What should I do?

Also, can someone point me in the direction of how to upload pictures, so it can be shown more clearly?[/img]

The problem you're having, is because the ribbon of hair is too long on that bow.
It can happen for a number of reasons, but mostly because one of the knots came loose or out of its hole(s) - probably inside the frog, the wedge came loose or wasn't properly formed.

That's my informed guess. I am guessing from experience as I have rehaired bows now for about fifteen years...

As far as posting photos here, you first have to put them on a site devoted to online sharing - like flickr. Then you need to size them before posting them online - I choose to size them to medium size. sizing them to an appropriate size is a function that flickr provides - and it's a real pain n the a$$ to learn how to actually post them once you get them up on flickr.
But getting them on a posting site is the first step - you cannot post them from home.

You can ask me more if and when when you ever get them posted on flickr.

Ct is right... the hair has stretched too long.
the best solution is to have the bow rehaired with new hair. Long hair can be shortened, but the work involved is as much as a rehair and is never as satisfactory.
Good luck!
