Would like to know if I am on the right track with flats, in the key signature. Say there are 3 flats in a key signature Bb, Eb, and Ab. This would make the key to be Eb. Right? Also, would the Bb be played on the A string low 1st position or ( A# / Bb ) The Eb be played on the A string high 3rd position or ( D# / Eb ) and the Ab be played on the D string high 3rd position ( G# / Ab ). Many Thanks in advance for your help. Jerry |

Sorry, I did not see this post earlier.
To find the key given 2 or more flats, select the second to last flat listed as
the name of the key. So for 3 flats listed, the second to the last flat is Eb.
So you are right. The key of just one flat is F.
Bb, Eb and Ab can all be played in first position, but using different fingers.
So, in first position:
* Bb on A string using index finger
* Eb on A string using third finger
* Ab on D string using third finger |
