Are you sure the tapping noises are not caused by your long fingernails?

That's an interesting thought but nope, my fingernails never get too long. This is like those breakaway training golf clubs though- As long as my form is good, there's nothing to worry about Very Happy (actually, this really has helped my form significantly)


On an unrelated noted, I've become pretty attached to the violin looking exactly as it does right now with the very aged-looking but unfinished top and the original finish everywhere else. Is it possible to give it a thin coat of clear shellac just as protection? I might try to darken it up a tiny bit, but other than that there isn't much I would want to change
