Hi!

I would like to ask what are you all doing when you take short breaks from playing. But "short" means 10-20 mins ( so ~90 min of playing, break, 90 min, break, 90 min ) , it's kind of "a lot of time", you want to rest and let your mind relax, so doing anything that requiers focus seems counter-productive. What can a person do in 10-20 minutes to rest that doesn't require focus and yet isn't boring? :p Especially since you take those kind of breaks couple times a day, so it would be best to make the most of it.

Hello Focused!

What a interesting and refreshing question!

Well, I tend to use those periods just as you said to "let your mind relax." I do this by drinking water and having a light snack. As dull as that sounds, it does wonders. Practicing for such long hours, and at such a high intensity and focus, can leave the body exhausted, dehydrated, and needing of nourishment - it almost always does for me. Simply sitting quietly with little-to-no-thought can also do the trick. Also, occasionally I like to do some simple stretching. This can recirculate the blood and loosen shoulders, wrists, elbows and release any and all tension that may have possibly built up - this is also great if you want to keep up the energy in a rehearsal when you need to be back on stage in ten minutes and you don't want to get cold.
