This is not common, but it's hard to know the cause without knowing the history of the bow (and rosin), i.e. is it brand-new, recently rehaired, very old, etc.
As long as it doesn't keep losing hairs, or wasn't already underhaired, you should be ok. With some brand-new rosin you may be pressing too hard trying to get rosin on the hair, you may need to scrape the surface of the rosin first. |
