Ok here are my very last violins, started some years ago and really - the first projects after me having had my stroke.
So, after all, relearning how to speak again, I did find myself going almost robotic-like after what I had been doing for many years prior to that time....
Spalted American Maple (sawn on the slab?) is what the back was made from, and quartered Sitka Spruce (from alaska - 35 year old air dried wood) is the belly wood. The neck/scroll is also quartered American maple. (fiddleback).
I have a sitka spruce belly made and purfled - ready to go, but I accidently arched it waaaay too high, and am strongly considering re-carving one correctly and making the one I made a 'decoration' for the shop.
Starting once again? At 62?
Ok, I'll admit it readially, I'm an idiot.
Photos to follow. As soon as I can figure out why they seem so difficult to copy on-line presently.
Go figure.

Craig,
I’m glad to see that you’re still kicking it. You’ve been unusually quiet lately and had me worried. I don’t think you’re an idiot, perhaps a reformed boca grande, but not an idiot.
Have you been in contact with Joshua Henry lately? He lives not that far from me but I can’t contact him.

Boca Grande esta es mucho correcto. (Spanish)
I haven't spoken to Josh in a while. We have gone in slightly different directions, at least for the present. He is a spectacular intellect, and an absolutely marvelous teacher.
Hey, he even put up with (teaching) me for some years!
One day... I believe we'll re-connect.
yours,

Hi Cliff, Josh's phone number on his website is the best way to get a hold of him. I spoke with him yesterday.
