Hi Ken... Interesting article on the subject.... sounds like the vielle is a forerunner of the violin.

PS..... and here is one with an interesting bridge...

Mat Thank you for the reply Interesting link`s .
I may try to make one. It would be almost the same a making A style
mandolin if I can find some measurement s. Ken

(Chet Bishop) You have made 5 string fiddles do you think this type of
Guitar Fiddle- would work as it seem to have a larger body than Reg fiddle

Ken, my guess would be that most measurements would be the artist's creation and not really matter much. I would keep the vibrating string length and the after length standard... either the violin lengths ( 325mm, 57mm) or the viola lengths (370mm, 68mm) That way you can use standard strings and tuning.
... have fun... but you may need the assistance of a little special sunshine:)
Cheers... Mat

BTW... in case there is s website in a foreign language that you want to read... you can translate it :

Copy and paste the URl of the foreign site into the first box in https://translate.google.com
select the language and click translate.... the site should show in english... or french if you so choose:)
Does not always work perfectly, but in most cases enough to get what you need.
Cheers... Mat
