How can you identify a fiberglas vs carbon fibre bow... I have one that is essentially black with checkered grey squares throughout the bow... no name... on the cheap side...but curious.

If the checkered square look like a woven fabric encased in plastic (epoxy) then I would guess for carbon fiber. |

Hi Don... Thanks for the confirmation... I searched Google pics and yes, pretty much all of the ones with a checkerd pattern are carbon fibre.... and most of the fiberglas were plain. Google is not very authoritative but the odds are that the one I have is CF.

CF is quite common, but so is fiberglas. My understanding is that the cheaper student versions are usually/often fiberglas but better bows are CF.
Most of my work is with wood bows, so I have limited knowledge of the CF & FG bows. CF is made of carbon fibres whereas FG is made of glass fibres.
