Writing for advice. I’m the process of removing the ribs from the mould, the top block cracked. I guess i didn’t support well enough or hit it too hard. What is the best way forward—can I glue/clamp the block in a way that it will be strong enough for the neck? Should I replace the block? I’ve left the ribs in place in the mould but all blocks are free.

This is violin #2. I didn’t have this problem with the first one. Thanks for any suggestions.

You can glue it. If you are worried, take off half of it, (and thus half the crack) from the inside and cap it with a new piece.
