Hello Folks
How do you folks control stage fright I am fine till I hear my name called to go & play Then the Butterfly stomoch untill I start to play then I settel down . You Have a tune in mind then when you get to the mike I
some times play another that come to mind Any Comment`s Anyone

Ken, This is something most everyone has. I don't think you will ever get
complete control over it, but it will become easier the more times you perform. Just be well prepared, and go after it.!!!!

What helps me is thinking about why I like to play and the fun of playing with others(like in a trio or band). Basically trying to turn the worry into excitement and anticipation. If you're enjoying yourself you don't let slip-ups bother you as much either. I also do a bit of public speaking and a funny story or remark can really set you and the audience at ease with each other right from the start.

Thank you for the reply Jack & G J K It is getting better I belive as you say jack know what you are going to do & go for it would help . We have a big group some times around siixty that comes to this old time fiddle night from 7 to 10 pm Half play one tune each alone & the other half the next week

Then we all play as a group with one leader the rest of the evening .
Some are wonderfull players one has recordings out .
There are some kids 6 to14 can sure play & step dance

Some are taking a bus tour as far as louisiana in Feb playing along the way for near three wks Thanks again ken
