Hi Bulerias, Thanks for providing the links for Chinese Violins.
I have several, and my best one has a fake Italian Label " Negri
Di Tortona ". It is well constructed, with accurate measurements,
and plays pretty well. Right now, I have it apart again, doing a tiny
bit of work on the arching. |

Hi Jack!
I started a thread about this same thing:

I think there is something common among thrifty handy men... we think we can go cheap then make it rock I had the same idea.
Would you care to go into detail about this asphalt mixture you used that made the violin rock ? I am very interested in that.
Thank you,
Craig |

I just posted under the "Cheap Ebay violin" thread about a Chinese VSO that I just worked on. To do much more than the work that I listed (about $100) would be kind of crazy for such a poorly made instrument. I wouldn't even consider any top off work. _________________ Doug Wall

I'm pretty new in the business , and I'm still trying to develop clientell.
That work includes a slightly better than student grade bridge, a bit of work on the nut, and a OK soundpost. I have a dealership for the strings, so I can afford to cut my profit a little. The instrument turned out pretty well for what I had to work with, and having a happy client (and his teacher) that can spread the word about my work is worth a lot. _________________ Doug Wall
