That is some impressive looking machine! How is it that the frame and waste material is still in one piece? Is it not cut through 100%? |

I'm guessing it's programmed to leave little bits of metal which are easily broken but provide support after the cut is done. |

Correct. It cuts about 90% through. If it cut all the way the pieces would fall into the machine, and possibly damage the cutter head or other parts. Alot of times the CNCs are left to work on pieces over night so work is done when we come in the morning.
Jach H. - We don't have any water cutters, but we do get some parts cut by laser through another company. The milky looking substance in that picture is coolant for the metal cutter head. _________________ Making a Violin II
