Hi All - I need to buy some sterling silver tinsel for lapping, but I dont see it for sale at my usual supplier(s). Any recommendations? Also, I'm looking for a good supplier of snakewood and bannia bow blanks, if you can recommend any. Thanks! |

Try jewlers supply stores for the silver wire.
It comes in various thicknesses. They will add different amount of weight to the bow.
Violins generally use .2 or .25mm wire.
As for the wood.... no idea.
If you cannot find a place to sell you wire I would happily do so.

For snakewood or some other rare bow woods you could try David Persram, in Georgetown, Guyana. His e-mail is info@exoticwoodsandcrafts.com.
Good luck. The dealers in exotic woods are not always easy to work with.

Hi Ed,
I have the tinsel in stock (silk/silver). I don't have the price at the moment, as I am currently away. Send me an email and I will have the price to you within a couple of days.
Thanks! _________________ Leif Luscombe
