Here's #23 with the tiny knot in the front... most people wouldn't see that and you can't see it in this picture.
It's now in the lightbox getting a tan for a week or two.

Jack;
How's the repair on the St. Cecile 'cello coming? The one that sports this decal came to visit this week... Great instrument, but time for a button reinforcement.

Thanks for the photo.
Yep, needs to have the button reinforced.
The repair is about finished, neck is set, top is on, just have to do the final sanding and varnish on the new neck and a few spots of touch up on the bass bar area.
here is a link to a photo of the scroll as it was delivered...
one word of advice to cellists... don't fall on your instrument!

It's a transfer, not a brand. I have no idea what pigments were used... The wording is "St. Cecile des Thernes" _________________ Jeffrey

Just finished the bass we were working on.
will put up a picture of some of the work tomorrow.
For today I uploaded a picture of the belly of the cello.
It is all back together and getting varnish on the new neck and beginning to touch up.
Dressed 2 bass fingerboards today and french pollished one bass.

This is my first violin. Getting close to final arching on my top. Any tips?

I'm working on repairing an old czech violin. I have the top off fixing
some bad cracks, and noticed that someone had previously cut off about
two-thirds of the old bassbar, and glued a sloppy looking one in it's place.
Might wait and see how it sounds, before making a new bar. |
