Hey,

so I figured i'd introduce myself.

I'm from 21 Canada and just started playing Violin about 2 months ago.

I've really been enjoying it but don't have a teacher, so i'm having trouble progressing very much, but i'm managing.

i'm really hoping this forum can help improve my skills.

looking forward to it!

You have many teachers.

Just surf on "violin lessons" , "violin pedagogy" , etc. There has to be at least 6 sites with valuable info for beginners AND enough content to keep you busy for quite a while.

Thanks a bunch!
I'm already pretty comfortable handling the instrument and moving my fingers around.

what i'd really love right now are more low-difficulty songs.

I've taught myself what I know, and songs that people might recognize are Ode to Joy and Devil's Dream.
I know 3-4 others, but they are not common.

any other songs that people could recomend to me along with a possibility of a good place to find the sheet music for it?

Hi Sirex,
Welcome to the Forum. I too, have not been playing all that long. I
started out by trying to teach myself, and in no time at all, I saw that
this was not working out as I planned. I got a teacher. and it took about
two months to correct the things I was doing wrong. So, please get a
teacher, if at all possible.
While you are waiting, you can get some very good, sound, instruction
on the web at: " Violin Masterclass ". Punch it up, and try it out.
Good Luck,

Jack

hey, would you mind, maybe sending me some tabs as well?

thanks much.

and Jack: I did have a teacher for 2-3 lessons, but she dissapeared on me.
she did have time to show me how to hold everything properly and teach me proper finger placements, so I think i'm doing things correctly, still.
I have been considering finding another teacher regardless, though.
