I believe I have discovered the secret to rival the Stradivarius.
I know this probably sounds ridiculous as there's lots of crazy stuff on the net claiming all kinds of things but this is real.

I would like to offer my discovery and services free here for members to sample and perform before and after recordings on if the administration of the board would be open to it. I figured I would post here and ask whether this is appropriate to share with the forum or not.

I don't think Strad had any magnets in his shop. Disolving the hardened sap by any method will probably work. I boil my 'green' wood in a salty chemical solution. It dries fast, hasn't split yet, and has improved tone in the finished product.
You can inexpensively try this too. Buy a short fence board. Cut it to about fifteen inches length and boil it (30 minute per side) in a roasting pan. Total cost? Under five dollars. Give it a couple of days to dry.
I'm sure the boiling heats and disolves most of the sap and the salt removes exess moisture as it dries. _________________ GeeMac |
