Hello everyone. My name is John. I played the violin from the age of 7 to 17 then switched to classical guitar. Now, 47 years later I'm playing the violin again, as well as the guitar.
I've made 4 guitars and am part way through a violin. Fingers crossed.
I've been following this forum for a while now; it's excellent. |

Hello Muswell,
Welcome to the forum. I also play the guitar and violin as well.
What part of London do you live in? |

North London...Muswell Hill to be precise. The place dates from the 12th century and is the source of the river Moselle....hence Muswell. I like the sound of the word, like one of Dowland's pieces, and my real name seems to be already taken by someone in the violin world.
Guitar and violin is a good combination I find. The guitar is self-contained and not too loud while the violin is good for playing with others and letting rip. I think my teacher will only be satisfied when she ses smoke coming from my violin. |
