I recently replaced my strings. Both E and A were starting to whistle or squeal (or whatever the term may be). Replaced ALL my strings and low and behold E string still whistles but now the D string is kind of like buzzing. Not sure if its the string or my bowing or my violin? I might also add that my first set were Pirastro Tonica's and my new set are dominants with the Passione E string. What could be causing the buzzing on the D and the whistling E? I might add that these issues were not apparent prior to the old strings wearing out. Actually they weren't that old...about two months. Thanks in advance.

Overlooked this post. Have you solved this problem yet?

The problem I had with the buzzing D string has sorted itself out. Not sure why it buzzed the first few days but at least its stopped. The E string has also improved with use and has only whistled once in the past couple of days when I go from the d on the A string to the open E. But if I run into any more problems or if they return I'll let you know. Thanks.
