Hi.

I'm new on this forum, so if a make any mistake please tell me Wink

I play violin for 4 years. I'm currently a 4th grade student (I'm going to start the 5th grade next September). The last piece I played was Scene de Ballet, by Charles De Beriot, and the last concert I played was the nº9 concert in A minor, from Beriot, too.

I'm looking for some suggests of pieces and violin concertos to play.
I look specially, for pieces/concertos, where I can work my expressivity and the fast notes/scales.

Try these pieces, and let me know how you find it.

1. Menuet (D major) by W.A. Mozart.
2. Sicilienne and Rigaudon (In the style of Francoeur) by Fritz Kreisler

If you want something slow and waltz-like to play, Ashokan Farewell.

You don't have to like it learn it. Every song can teach you something. For example, Ashokan Farewell can teach you patience as you keep a slow pace.

I think we're a little bit different.

For me, to study a piece, I need to like it.

For example, i'm studying Bach's A minor. And it's really hard for me to study it, 'cause I don't like it...

But thanks anyway for the advice, I'm going to try to play it Wink

It appears to me like you like the sweet melodious and perhaps lively major keys, instead of the monotonous sounding minor keys like Bach. Is this correct?

How about these:

Beautiful expressive pieces

- On Wings of Song, by Felix Mendelssohn (D major)
- Le Cygne (The Swan), by Camille Saint-Saens
- Meditation de "Thias", by J. Massenet
- Humoreske, by Antonin Dvorak

Beautiful pieces with some fast passages

- Nocturno, Op. 9, No. 2, by Frederic Chopin
- Romance Concerto, L. Van Beethoven, Op. 50
- Romance, Op. 22, by Henri Wieniawski

By the way, I listened to the Scene de Ballet piece by Beriot for the first time, and it really is a beautiful piece. I think that's pretty good for a 4th grade student! Smile

You're really correct. I really like melodious pieces, and I don't have a preference for major ou minor keys.

By the way, do you have any special site to find music scores?
