Mokumoku,
I appreciate your perspective and comments. I think you may have misunderstood my words and interpreted them in a different way than I intended. If I wrote my post in a way that seemed forward or offensive to either you or anyone else, than I apologize profusely, however the point that I was trying to get across was (I think) eloquently pointed out by Lemuel in his statement,
"You are probably referring to the morality of taking drugs. We are not (at least I'm not, LSOviolinist can speak for himself) dealing with this, but rather the approach or technique to overcoming stage fright."
It is not a matter of "jealously" but rather a commentary on what seem to be temporary fixes. I am not, and as I stated multiple times before in my other posts, judging anyone who uses these drugs but merely stating that the feeling of nerves and anxiety should be embraced naturally with technique and practice. If, however, a performer needs beta-blockers to perform, than by all means they should use them to create their music. I suppose I'm just old-fashioned
Also, I was never commenting, or intending to comment on the morality of taking drugs.
And thank you Lemuel for your earlier comments!
This has turned into an interesting discussion! _________________ - LSOviolinist |
