Yo gangstaz,
I just joined the forum mostly to supplement my sources of literature while attempting to make a first bow. So far, my sources have been YouTube (first time that speaking French turned out useful), the net, and a copy of Henderson I bought last year.
My skill background is . . . okies, I have nothing relevant there. I have a fully outfit woodworking shop with both power and hand tools. Currently attempting to make drums and drum sticks, while at the same time taking care of wife's to do list.
My lumber stock currently contains: walnut, plain and tiger maple, mahogany, cherry, wamara, yellowheart, bloodwood, purpleheart, bubinga, and I am sure I am missing some stuff. I am not going to buy pernambuco for the first dozen bows
Well, there's my story. I have no specific deadline for my first bow, but I will attempt to make both the stick and the frog. The aim will be to make a fully functional bow with none of the embellishments.
cheers,
