It may not be necessary to say this, but the same rule applies to pegs: start them small, and enlarge the holes as absolutely little as possible when replacing them. Fit the peg to the hole, not the hole to the peg. _________________ new blog at my site! http://darntonviolins.com/blog

Don thanks, a picture is worth a thousdand words! I'll be making one like that as I don't think there's much hope for the one I have. Overall dimensions something like .5" x 1" x 4"?
Interestingly i just made a smaller version of a clamp in this style as a test for gluing linings. The one I made is delrin .375" x .75" x 1.5". I gotta figure out how to post pictures heres. |

The one I made is 7-1/2" x 1-1/4" x 3/4" and I think I was guessing at the dimensions from a photo of Michael's.
About posting images here, what I do is set up a free account at 'Imageshack', download or phone my images to it. Beside each thumbnail is a 'share' icon, press that and I get several choices of urls. I copy the one that says 'direct' and paste it into my reply here, after clicking on the Img box that you see above your reply.
I'll put this in the thread about posting pics too. |
