I'd be more inclined with the first line. The last two 16th notes occurs at the
end of 53, so I wouldn't want to accentuate them in any way by a bow change.

On the other hand if you would like to change your bow at that point, you might
want to transfer the two 16th notes to 54 and write them as Acciaccatura
(see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appoggiatura#Appoggiatura for definition)
leading into the C note.

It depends on what effect you want to achieve.

And of course, you would have to extend the dotted quarter note E in 53 to half note.

What piece is this anyway?

Thanks very much for taking the time to respond - much appreciated.

I'm in two minds about it. The semiquavers in 53 are definitely before the downbeat as opposed to the acciaccatura in bar 52, which is definitely on the downbeat.

I think I'm getting myself into a muddle unnecessarily. I suppose it's just a question of where the stress should lie? I think probably on the F.

Incidentally, the piece is in E flat minor, I forgot I had chopped the key signature off.

Thanks again.
