I have been asked quite sometime, are violins and fiddles the same. I answer "its the way its played" I learn classical violin because i like classical strings. I look at it like, its your instrument. how you play it is your own preference. Has anyone been asked this and how have you answered.

Same thing....it's the way it's played. However, the average cost and quality of classical violins are higher than fiddles. There are exceptions of course.
