It troubles you because there are people in the world who thinks these things actually sound good, and that they get to be judges in this type of event, perhaps? _________________ new blog at my site! http://darntonviolins.com/blog

I noted it was selected in part for the general idea, and its "value for money offered". I have a carbon fiber bow by the same folks, its so so, and the silver winding turned out to be just silver coated copper...so ... lost my train of thought. _________________ Dave in the Blue Ridge

"The ‘Design Line’ carbon-fibre violin stood out ‘thanks to the innovative implementation of the basic idea, the very pleasant sound and the excellent value for money offered..."
Every time I see the phrase "...thanks to..." I remember the teenage longing I had to own a Hasselblad camera and do black and white photography... just like Ansel Adams. Hasselblad, in the 70s and 80s put out promotional booklets, and I collected 'em all. Over and over, they would say stuff like... "The 500CM is the basic modular building block of the Hasselblad system, THANKS TO ... and you'd get endless examples. It was always "thanks to".
Sorry for the tangent, but like smells that remind us of childhood, this one hit hard! |
