Hello,
what glue is used to mix with wood dust to fill up cracks/gaps and how does the process work exactly? I am talking about damage done by the little finger and thumb on the stick for an example. I am not talking about complicated cracks on the tip and frog with splines, metal pins, re-drilling holes etc.
I have tried 3 times using different glues to fix an ebony frog. When the glue dried and I started sanding the frog the glued part came off.
I have taken a bow rehair class already so I have some basic skills and knowledge.
Thanks! _________________ Emil |

What kind of glue did you use and how did you prepare the surface ?
Pics of the damage would be helpful.
Glue and dust is generally ok for cracks, but if you are building up an area, I would be using thin veneer of matching ebony and G2 epoxy. You need to prep the surface to raw wood for the glue to take hold. New glue on old glue will not work.
If the wear is just surface, and not creating any problems, I would be tempted to just leave it... but that depends on a whole lot of factors and desires.
