What is the best/proper way to do the channel where it crosses the end button? Seems to me keeping it the same depth as the rest of the channel will weaken the end the button area. Currently doing a Bergonzi copy and can't tell with the info that I have of how it was done. Thanks in advance for your responses. Henry

I can't say what is proper or best, but here is how I usually do it. I leave the button and the area just below it a half mm thicker than most of the edge. Then I try for the same depth of channel as the rest. But I'm not making copies. If you have a really good fit and glue joint between the neck and block, there doesn't usually seem to be a lot of stress on the button.

I go right through as if the button weren't there. As LP says, don't make the button hold the neck in and there won't be a problem.
