I am a composer from Edmonton who is getting back into playing viola. I took viola when I was eight years old but I became bored especially during the summer so I didn't continue on afterwards. I continued on with music because writing music wasn't boring. In the end I got to play quite a few instruments but currently, what I used was mostly synthesisers.

Anyways, a project I found myself working on had me listening to a lot of fiddlers and I thought to myself, hey that sounds more fun than playing classical music. So I am giving it a whirl. At the very least, it gets me something to do when the power goes out.
So, as I say, I dig both schools of barn dance: old school and new school.
So far I have managed to recollect how to play Ode to Joy so I am off to a good start. Definitely need to work on my bowing.
