Hello Ian I have a FIDDLE It has a tag Sebaftian Kloz IN Mittenwald looks 19 04 it has a signature no idea what it is .One thing I know for sure it`s not going to make me rich

I'm just interested on how to trace the makers, was there a particular maker who carved lion head scrolls for exapmle.

A couple of thoughts
www.amati.com might be a place to gather some info and you can request research i believe.
For more help here, perhaps post some pictures, a little more detail on what you know of it. These things may help generate a little more response. |

Are you sure that it's really a Mittenwald violin? Lots of high quality pictures of all parts of the violin are usually helpful. _________________ Doug Wall

hi Ian... you need to first post the pics on a image hosting site like flickr. then copy the URl of those pics and paste it in your post. the instructions are in a sticky thread at the top of the list of topics.... several ways to do it.
