Things have been a bit sleepy here so I thought I'd give a brief update on what's happening to me this week.
It's the first week of my three-week summer violin making workshop, http://SCVMW.com . As is normal, I'm running a little more than full, with 13 people this week out of 12 available spaces. About half of the attendees are new, half old, from previous workshops. Also, as usual, there's a wide range of skill levels represented. I have students who are local (near Claremont, where the classes are held), and one is from Taiwan. Others are from across the US.
Always interesting for me is watching people who have previously attended, when I see something click in their mind and suddenly their work improves. That's one of the reinforcements for me, watching the improvement over the years.
Next week is full, but there are still a couple of spaces in the third week. I may be getting a bit of a rest, or there's the possibility now of still adding a person or two. . . _________________ new blog at my site! http://darntonviolins.com/blog
