Just finished my fourth copy of the 1592 Amati viola.
This time I am having to use an UV light box to dry the varnish.
Don't know much about this - how long do I leave the instrument in the box to dry a coat of varnish?

Until it is dry. That depends on the UV box (configuration, wattage, etc) and the varnish. You will just need to test. My varnish in my box takes less than 24 hours per coat, normally.
