Hi, I have a 1/4 violin with a low fingerboard (4mm between bottom of fingerboard and violin body). Can I just fit a lower bridge or should I fix the neck/fingerboard?
thanks |

With small instruments it's particularly important to get all of the bridge height you can. I'd get the neck pulled up somehow. |

thanks for the advice.
I've seen some violins with a wedge under the fingerboard to raise it...is this an option?
(It's a decent student violin, but a student model nonetheless and it's not worth putting a lot of time/work into. I'd still like to salvage it though) |

There are many possible ways to do it. It sounds like time to involve a shop person. |
