Hello all,

I tried to get some help on this earlier. Hope someone knows the solution. I'm trying to reset the neck on an old german strad copy. The neck is still joined to the ribs really well, but totally loos from the button and back. The problem is, when I get it lined up and flush with the button, it doesnt sit tight to the beck on the interior side. (is that clear?)

So I'm not sure if maybe I should shim that little gap. I dont know if thats ever done. I dont think I'll get a strong joint if I dont figure something out. I'm trying for the least invasive approach as this is my first resto project.

I'm having trouble following you. Please post a picture. Are you getting the neck angle correct when you're closing the gap?
