i delt with a company back in october 2006 International luthiers supply Inc of tulsa OK. they supplied me with tools, fittings, wood etc all good quality and at fair prices shipped to me here in australia. october 2007 i placed another order, 5 days later the appropriate amount of money was taken from my credit card as instructed. weeks went by no parcel, tried emails, faxes even phone calls no reply. got through on phone once, was told there was a delay on a part of my order but it would be sent that week , have never seen it and have not been able to contact them since, goodbye $180US!
anybody delt with this company? got any suggestion, any help with this would be greatly appreciated

Generally this company is extremely slow to ship, not sure if I have heard of someone never recieving an order though. I no longer buy from them.

If I may ask...who do you buy from now MATT? I'm looking for a good company with reasonable prices. And good customer relations too.

I've dealt with international luthier before. I agree with Matt, they were definitely slow. I'd keep calling them and try to resolve the situation.

International violin company is who I deal with now. Their website is www.internationalviolin.com Their shipping is extremely fast and I've never had a problem with them. Many of the luthiers I talk with deal with International Violin.

Mostly from http://atlanticviolinsupplies.com/Default.asp, and some times from http://www.violins.on.ca/index.html.

I noticed you are in Pennsylvania, the suppliers I mentioned are in Canada just so you are aware.

I'd also like to mention I have liked the wood that comes from Atlantic Violin Supplies, but perfer the selection of fine fitting Leif Luscombe offers. I also like Luscombe's selection of varnishes and may get the varnish for my next violin from him. He runs this forum also.

I have noticed that you can purchase varnish and/or make it. Do most people purchase it? Or make there own. I read how long it takes to prepair it till it's useable. And it doesn't seem like most the ingredents are easily availble. Most I've never heard of Confused Just curious.

Thanks for the Shopping information. I have lots of suppliers listed in my favorites now. Very Happy

That would depend on experience I guess. I've made the varnish for my first instruments, but am not totally happy with it, so will most likely buy the JOHA stuff from Leif for now.
