|
|
Hello from Maine,
My 9 year old daughter is in violin class in school. I picked up a violin so we could practice together. Groovy. This is a trick parents use to get their kids to practice
So I picked up a DVD to teach me how to play so I could keep up with her. But error!!! The lady on the DVD eventually said "put your finger here, on this sticker"
I have no stickers on my fingerboard!!!
What planet is this lady from that she thinks we all have stickers on our fingerboards?
But I do have a digital caliper.
I was hoping there is a chart for marking the fingerboard.
Is there such a chart?
Thank you,
Craig
p.s. I was going to order a "Perfekt Noten" sticker, but I can not get their web page to come up:

Aha! "Don't fret"
They are also on eBay for $8 with free shipping:

I'll try that
Cheers,

hey craig
the best thing to do is have your daughters teacher apply tape (they often use drafting tape) to the correct spots. or if you have access to a keyboard or piano, tune the violin to the piano and then find the coordinating notes on the violin and apply the tape yourself. if you do not have drafting tape, then find any tape, that sticks pretty well and cut it down to the correct width. (about 2mm wide) i would not buy that decal that someone else posted. i cant imagaine that being good for the fingerboard. imagine removing all the goop once it starts to wear out? no thanks. also, if it starts to lose stickiness and once it starts to lift off the fingerboard, then it cound create a buzzing sound due to it hitting the strings. _________________ http://sgwhiteviolins.googlepages.com/home |
