I watched the first video where he is playing while sitting on the edge of the stage. His hold and posture look like the pictures I have seen of the old turn of the century players in Ireland and America. I wonder if he is
largely self taught like those of old ? I see him picking strings with his
left hand little finger. Like to see him and Alasdair Frasier after about
2 quarts each of Guiness sitting by a huge fire in a pub somewhere deep
in Ireland dueling with each other to see if each can play the the other's last line..... there would be some kind of nuclear meltdown !!!!!
Impressive that he is SOOOOO relaxed in his body language and both
hands. NO stress at all. An very smooth and flowing ! I will visualise
that as my Zen goal !

Being you survived a little Apap, I'll hook you up with some extreme stuff but at your own risk.
You can also surf up Giles with the Transylvannia Mountain Cowboys.

Grace: Great minds think alike !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
About 3 months ago I was watching something on TV ( i can't remember
what it was) and I saw Josh Groban singing with a band in the background
behind him. After a minuite I noticed that there was Lucia playing Violin.
She never got a close up but it was her ! I think I read she was touring with Him. She looked a little older on TV- dressed a little more casual.
PS.
I have a friend whose last name is Micarelli . She is about 70- and been
playing violin since she was 4. Was a fullbrite scolarship playing violin and studyed in france. She fell in love on the boat on the way to France (like "Titanic" without the icebergs... I have been bugging her to E-Mail Lucia to come over for dinner to her house ! They both started playing about the same age ! Just a neat storey I thought you might like !

So your name is Tim! All the while I had this crazy thought you might be one of the people Lucia Micarelli worked with! (jethro tulle) Laughing

I had Music From a Farther Room downloaded last week and it works like magic! not only is it beautiful but it also spurs me in doing pesky homeworks (which I used to ignore 100%)

Plus: my tones a huge lot better!

Grace....
I mentioned in your other thread but I guess you havn't checked it...
Go to Youtube and do a search under the name " Lori Watson" or
"borders fiddle" . Lori has a 3 piece band in Scotland ( I think).
I couldn't find any evidence that she has made any sosl albums Sad
The piece she plays on Youtube is called "Tam's slow march"
It is both one of the most beautifull pieces I have heard AND her technique
with the bow is SOOOOO smooth.... like a machine ..... like Ice cream ..
Watch and tell us what you think !
PS. I found a printible copy of the music too ( I think I googled)

Lucia Micarelli is in the Philippines... and I CAN'T go to her show! Sad

I was watching the AM news today which features bands with upcoming shows when this old rock band called Juan dela Cruz, who have REALLY old band members (they were big during the 60's) you'd wonder how they're going to be alive enough for a screaming crowd, popped into the screen singing "Teacher's Enemy #1" with the cameras panning from their faces to the audiences and to their concert poster.

I thought it was just the good old phantoms again since I did swear that if I have a job and Micarelli has a concert, I would go (and I've been offered a job recently but I'm still thinking about it) but the close up poster shots confirmed it and the article below also confirmed it!-- and of course I dont have money and the show is TONIGHT!

*sigh*

A similar thing happened about 3 weeks before you brought up the Coors.
They happened to be on tour here in Orlando and playing downtown at
the convention center. It seemed like I was too busy to go. It was only
about 10 miles away but the city has the place where all the mucic concerts play certered right in the absolute worst part of town where all the murders, rapes, carjackings and car breakins happen. I think they do
that to try to demonstrate to all the tourists that that area is juat as safe as any other. Sadly most of the tourists don't have a clue and swallow the citys propaganda. If it had been in a better place that would have
helped.
Another gruip you should see if they come near you are called
"the Romeros" they are 3 sons and a father who all play classical guitar.
I think they are the best in the world ! I 'm sure you can give tham a
listen on line too. Were you able to listen to any violin from the album
called "angel's candles" by Marie Breatnact ????? Really good stuff !

Okay.. I didnt know the corrs are stilll performing live! I'm bored with summer vacation atm and you're suggestions have just come in time. Thanks jethro! i assume the romeros play flamenco? because i also love hard-core latin music! and your violinist's weird name suggests Celtic roots-- i'll look for her for real!
