There was a mournful cry coming from the closet. Like a forgotten dog on a chain who has given up of ever being loved but once in a while manages a sound perchance someone may hear.
I opened the door and there in the corner behind the long dresses she sat with tears in her eyes. In pity I scooped her up and held her to my neck and we swooned into each other.
So my violin called me and I will try again. This time smarter, calmer, no expectations - just me and her hanging out together making music and whatever comes of it so be it.
I take free lessons from youtube once in a while. Todd Ehle is great. I don't need thousands of dollars of gear from Shars. I just need me and her making the music she makes.
Infatuation with a new thing has its place but the real delight is a mature, steadfast, committed relationship. I don't expect anymore of her what I expected before. I came to resent her for being so difficult to live with. And now I know how to live with her - undemandingly. Like the wind in the trees it will blow where it blows.
