Instrument Trade-in Policy

ViolinVision Trade-in Policy for Violins, Violas, Cellos, Basses

Instruments purchased from ViolinVision can be traded in toward another instrument of equal or greater value.

General Policy

Trade in value is based on our current selling price, unless original purchase price was lower. Violins, violas, cellos, and basses are traded in at up to 60%, provided the instrument and/or bow is in good condition. We reserve the right to exclude case value from trade, as used cases are generally not very valuable; cases will likely be included if high quality or if the trade is an outfit. We are not responsible for shipping or transportation costs.

Condition Factors

We reserve the right to decrease the trade-in amount for wear and tear or damage to the instrument. Instruments that require new strings to be sold will have this amount deducted from the selling price, as will bows that require rehairing. Where there is substantial wear, we will reduce the value accordingly; instruments with damage to the wood may not qualify for trade-in. Original receipt must be presented at time of trade. Only one trade in per purchase.

Instruments marked “special item”, and consignment sales may be excepted from this policy.

We reserve the right to alter this policy at any time.
